Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Empowering Communication in Cancer Care; What skills do we need?

Memandangkan kemahiran komunikasi adalah sangat penting bagi profesional perubatan ketika berhadapan dengan pesakit, Pusat Sumber & Pendidikan Kanser (CaRE) mengambil inisiatif untuk menbantu meningkatkan kemahiran dan pengetahuan golongan ini. Satu program CPD bertajuk "Empowering Communication in Cancer Care; What skills do we need?" telah dianjurkan oleh CaRE dengan kerjasama Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan Institut Kanser Negara (IKN). Program ini telah diadakan pada 4 September 2014 bertempat di Bilik Seminar 1-4, IKN bermula jam 8.00 pagi hingga 5.00 petang.  

Ceramah disampaikan oleh Dr. Siti Irma Fadhilah Binti Ismail dan juga Dr Zubaidah Binti Jamil @ Osman. Kedua-dua penceramah adalah dari Jabatan Psikiatrik, Fakulti Perubatan & Sains Kesihatan UPM. Selain dari ceramah, pada sebelah petang turut diadakan sesi 'Role Play' di mana setiap peserta berbincang di dalam kumpulan dan berpeluang mempraktikkan apa yang telah mereka pelajari di awal pagi. 

Program ini telah dihadiri oleh 38 orang peserta dan kebanyakan mereka amat berpuas hati dengan program seumpama ini serta berharap agar program ini dapat dilaksanakan lagi pada masa akan datang. 

(NEWS)Cancer Awareness at Program Karnival Sukarelawan KPT bersama Komuniti Permas Jaya, Pasir Gudang

Pasir Gudang, 1st Mei 2013 – CaRE was invited as exhibitor at Program Karnival Sukarelawan KPT bersama Komuniti Permas Jaya. CaRE’s tasks were to generate awareness and information on breast self examination (BSE) and promoting CaRE to the community of Flat Taman Permas Jaya. A total of 122 participations from around Pasir Gudang visited CaRE booth.

(NEWS)Cancer Awareness and Exhibition at Program Seminar Tahunan PUSPANITA

Putrajaya, 30th April 2013 – CaRE has been invited to do cancer awareness and exhibition at “Program Seminar Tahunan PUSPANITA, Kesedaran Kesihatan Mengenai Kanser Payu Dara dan Pemeriksaan Tahap Kesihatan Wanita”. This program was organized by PUSPANITA Kebangsaan, Tabung PUSPADARA PUSPANITA (TPP) with support from Ministry of Heath, Malaysia. CaRE participated to generate awareness and information on cancer and promoting CaRE to the participants of the seminar. On that day, CaRE was engaged with 20 participations. CaRE would like to extend our appreciation to PUSPANITA Kebangsaan for the invitation and look forward for future collaboration. Thank you.

According to Malaysia National Cancer Registry (NCR) Report 2006, colorectal cancer or colon cancer is the second most common cancer after breast cancer in Peninsular Malaysia. The report shows that colon cancer incidence was 1st among male and 2nd among female.
