Cancer Resource & Education Center (CaRE), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with Persatuan Kanser Network Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor (KanWork) and Persatuan Guolin Qi Gong Malaysia (PGQM) will organize a first-ever program called "Healthy Lifestle Day 2012". This program aims to raise funds for the implementation of activities of cancer patients, thus helping to inculcate a healthy lifestyle.
A healthy lifestyle is essential to maintain our wellness and wellbeing. This program is especially critical for those effected by chronic diseases such as cancer. It is also for cancer survivors to meet, support and network with each other, do health screening, and be updated with current cancer management practice. At this event, local and corporate communities participate to provide and support cancer survivor activities.
We invite those effected by cancer, institutions, corporate organisations, NGOs, students, lecturers, faculties, researchers, community & public at large and others interested parties. Below is the details of the program:

(COMPETITION) HEALTHY LIFESTYLE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH POSTER COMPETITION IN CONJUNCTION WITH HEALTHY LIFESTYLE DAY 2012 PROGRAM
Call For Poster Presentation
Deadline for Submission of Abstract:6th April 2012
CaRE is pleased to invite lecturers, researchers, medical professionals, students, and other individuals to submit abstract for poster presentations on completed or ongoing research for the Healthy Lifestyle Day 2012 to be held on 21 April 2012, Saturday.
'Healthy Lifestyle Day 2012' is a program organized by Cancer Resource & Education Center (CaRE), UPM in collaboration with Malaysia Guolin Qigong Association (PGQM) and the Kanser Network Association (KanWork). This program is expected to attract the participation of approximately 1000 people consisting of cancer survivors, university students, researchers, medical professionals and the public.
You are invited to submit poster abstracts that fall within the following themes:
- Healthy Lifestyle
- Spirituality
- Return To Work After Cancer
- Risk Factors
- Diagnosis, Treatment & Supportive Care
- Alternative & Complementary Treatments
- Caregiver & Support
Objective
The main objective of this poster presentation is to disseminate scholarly work and to promote research related to healthy lifestyle, especially for cancer patients/survivors. This session also serves as a forum for informal discussion with interested colleagues in related areas.
Abstract Invitation
You are invited to submit an abstract not exceeding 250 words before 6th April 2012 to the conference secretariat by fax, and e-mail by using the format provided (Appendix 1 as below). Accepted abstract will be notified by e-mail before 13 April 2012 and will be included in the abstract book of the competition.
Poster Evaluation and Best Poster Award
All posters will be evaluated by a panel of judges to qualify for poster award on decided criteria. Five posters with the highest mark will be chosen as winners.
Poster Format
- Researchers need to prepare one poster for each participation.
- Poster must be in A1 size (594 mm x 841 mm) and set in portrait orientation (Width: 594mm & Height: 841 mm).
- The content and information should follow the sample poster.
- Posters must be printed in English.
- Please avoid:
1. Using small font size and shadows.
2. Using similar color for poster background and content/title.
3. Using unclear image /picture/charts/figures.
4. Using too many words - use charts, tables, or graphics.
Terms and Conditions
1. Participants must be at the booth during the poster session which will be from 9.00 am until 12.30 noon.
2. The judges' decision is final.

The poster session will be held at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts & Cultural Center, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor from 9.00 am until 12.30 noon.
