(NEWS)CPD WORKSHOP ON CANCER CARE: Treatment, Support and Healing

Cancer Resource & Education Centre (CaRE) organized Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Workshop on Cancer Care: Treatment, Support and Healing on January 7^th, 2013. There were two invited speakers for the workshop: Professor Rosemary S. Caffarella (Cornell University) and Professor Dr. Norlia Binti Abdullah (UKMMC).  The program was attended by nurses from Hospital Putrajaya and UKMMC and cancer survivors.

The objectives of this program were to provide insight on the need of holistic approach in cancer care (treatment, support and healing); and to explore and discuss how cancer care providers can help patients and survivors in their healing process.

Round Table Discourse:

Participants were organized into small groups to discuss issues regarding challenges and experiences for people affected by cancer; and opinion about treatment, support and healing. Members shared their knowledge and experiences and presented output to other groups. The discourse was facilitated by SMART Team members from Cornell University.
